The other night, sitting with a group of friends, our explanation to why “Mad Men” is great was interrupted by somebody who just had to share the fact that her date had a Thanksgiving dinner with January Jones.
Because we were as drunk as Freddy Rumsen (in our case less “piss our pants” and more “hate everyone”) we responded, “She is the worst actress in that show.”
We’re sharing this anecdote because we want to make it clear that “Mad Men” is a terrific show, and that we are horrible people in real life as well.
However, illicit, uncompromising fandom just isn’t healthy. Especially when it’s such a dully presented fandom that exhibits even less effort than any others in the “Fuck Yeah” template. For example, please tell us what’s interesting about this.
